Es Amunts Interpretation Centre
A visit to learn about the value of one of Ibiza's last wildlife reserves
The mountainous region in the northwest of Ibiza is known as Es Amunts – which means ‘The Mountains’ - and due to its natural and heritage value it is subject to various types of protection, such as its inclusion in the Natura 2000 Network and recognition as a Special Protection Area (SPA) under the European Union Directive on the Conservation of Wild Birds and a Site of Community Importance (SCI). To appreciate its value, visit the Es Amunts Interpretation Centre in Sant Llorenç, where you will learn, for example, about the importance of its cliffs for numerous rare or endemic birds of prey and seabirds. You will also be able to see a botanical garden representing the landscape of Es Amunts and learn about its ethnological heritage. A visit that will later enrich other recommendable activities, such as a hiking tour of Es Amunts or a boat trip along its rugged coastline.
