Every last Saturday of October, the charming village of Sant Carles becomes the epicentre of the island’s maritime flavours with the Fira Gastronòmica des Calamar. An outdoor event designed for all audiences, paying tribute to the region’s iconic product, calamar (squid), cooked in both traditional and creative ways: grilled, in sauce, in fideuá, stuffed with sobrasada, “a la bruta” (plain)... and much more!
Professional and amateur chefs prepare their dishes with fresh catches from the fishing cooperatives of Santa Eulària and Sant Antoni. Starting at 1 p.m., tastings will be combined with musical performances, workshops, children’s games, and an evening concert to close out the day.
An ideal plan for spending the day with the family, which you can round off with a walk in the area or a visit to the nearby Es Trull de Ca n’Andreu house museum.
