Sant Joan de Labritja
Balansat walk / Trail PR-EI-106
From the port to the village in a steady ascent not suitable for the lazy.
This circular walk, twice as long on the outward journey as on the return, is suitable for families with teenagers who are used to uphill hikes. The walk starts at sea level, on the beach of Port de Sant Miquel, and heads towards the village of Sant Miquel de Balansat and its church, one of the most significant fortress-churches on Ibiza. Following stretches of road, tarmac paths and dirt tracks, during the first part of the walk you will enjoy the virtually unspoilt beauty of the natural area of Es Amunts, particularly as you pass through the Can Cosmi public estate, halfway along the trail, where you can have a rest and a snack with breathtaking views over the whole of the northern part of the island. From Sant Miquel, the return route follows the road to Sant Joan and then continues along a path formerly used by the locals of the area.
