Sant Joan de Labritja
Es Amunts walk / Trail PR-EI-101
A demanding walk through one of Ibiza's most remote landscapes
The mountainous region that stretches across the west and north of the island is the main feature of this high-difficulty walk, which is only suitable for families with teenagers and experience in mountain hiking. The walk, which can be started either in Cala Sant Vicent or in Sant Joan, has a total length of 20.2 km and runs along the old paths and trails used by the farmers in the area until the 1960s, when the road that finally ended their isolation was built. You will be able to appreciate the typical rural landscape of the area, with centuries-old traditional-style farmhouses, dry stone walls, streamside vegetation, springs and wells, such as the so-called Pou des Baladre, where traditional dances are held every summer. Be sure to visit the church of Sa Cala de Sant Vicent.
