Ibiza Museum of Contemporary Art

Avant-garde creativity, workshops and artistic fun for young and old alike

Colour, textures, symbolism and the creative freedom inherent to contemporary art spark children's imagination. Come and have a wonderful time of learning and artistic stimulation at the Ibiza Museum of Contemporary Art (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Ibiza - MACE), which periodically organises guided tours for families and freehand drawing workshops where children can have fun through art.

This museum in Dalt Vila is one of the oldest of its kind in Spain. Inaugurated in 1969, its collection includes the works awarded prizes at the Ibiza Biennial and the Ibizagráfic Biennial, the collection of drawings by Marí Ribas ‘Portmany’ and the engraving collections donated by the gallery owner and cultural promoter Carl van der Voort. In addition, the MACE also organises interesting temporary exhibitions featuring national and international contemporary artists.

A tip: on floor -2, look downwards to see an archaeological site that accumulates traces of all the different cultures that inhabited Dalt Vila.
