With a little planning, four days in Ibiza can feel wonderfully full.
Ibiza is a brilliant choice for a family holiday, bringing together gentle beaches, nature, culture and activities for every age.
If you are visiting with children, this suggested itinerary will help you explore the island at an easy, family-friendly pace.
Day 1: Family-friendly beaches and a stroll through Santa Eulària des Riu
There’s no better way to start a family holiday in Ibiza than by heading straight to the sea. Santa Eulària des Riu has some of the best beaches for families, with calm water, wide sandy stretches and everything you need for an easy day out.
Cala Llenya, Cala Nova and Cala Llonga are all good options, giving little ones space to play while adults can relax and enjoy the setting.
In the afternoon, take a gentle wander through the centre of Santa Eulària. The seafront promenade is the perfect place to take a leisurely stroll, enjoy an ice cream and head up to Puig de Missa to take in some lovely views of the town. If the children still have energy to spare, one of the local playgrounds is an easy way to end the day.
Day 2: nature in Sant Joan and sunset in Sant Antoni
Spend the second day exploring Ibiza’s wilder, more natural side. The municipality of Sant Joan de Labritja offers easy walking routes, rural landscapes and beaches where peace and quiet still take centre stage.
If your children are happy walking, choose one of the area’s easier trails, or spend time at Cala Sant Vicent for a swim and a little snorkelling in clear, shallow water.
Later on, make your way towards Sant Antoni de Portmany. Before sunset, you could visit one of its playgrounds or enjoy a walk along the waterfront. If you are keen to see more, Cala Salada and Cala Saladeta are among the area’s prettiest coves for a family dip in the Mediterranean.
Day 3: history in Eivissa and nature in Sant Josep
No trip to Ibiza is complete without spending time in Eivissa. Exploring the cobbled streets of Dalt Vila, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a great way to bring the island’s history to life for children.
Visit a museum, walk along the city walls or head down to the harbour for a relaxed lunch before moving on to the afternoon’s plans.
In the afternoon, the town of Sant Josep de sa Talaia offers plenty of options to round off the day. Cala Vedella is ideal for one last swim, while active family members might prefer something more adventurous, such as kayaking, paddleboarding or a short walk along one of the nearby trails.
It is a lovely way to balance culture, nature and time outdoors in a single day.
Day 4: Choose your favourite plan and enjoy it at your own pace
The last day is perfect for returning to the place you loved most or discover somewhere new, such as Santa Gertrudis, Sant Llorenç and the Balàfia settlement, Santa Agnès or Sant Jordi.
You might spend the morning on a different beach, wander around a market, visit a museum, hire bikes or take a kayaking trip to see the coastline from a new angle.
The best thing about travelling with children is that the simplest moments often become the ones you remember most: building sandcastles, spotting fish with a snorkel mask, playing in a park or wandering through a village full of character.
